Why Barack will never be president

The fact that this tape exists unfortunately pretty much means Barack can never be president. However, on the other hand, this should pretty much prove to any racists out there that Barack is not going to be renaming Pennsylvania Avenue “Malcolm X Place”. I mean, when Ellen has more soul than you, I think you pretty much have to turn in your “black guy” membership card at the door.

Daddy is the bread winner

Someone took James Earl Jones‘ voice from other films, and dubbed them over Star Wars footage. It starts out slow, but achieves hyper-space awesomeness about 2:30 in.

“Wolverine Origins” movie ahead of schedule, getting an August 2008 release!

I had heard that the highly anticipated X-Men Origins: Wolverine film was slated for a May 1, 2009 release date, but according to a newly released teaser trailer making the rounds, it appears production is way ahead of schedule, and we’re actually looking at a “Summer 2008″ release, which is more or less any day now. The movie looks killer, and if this trailer is any indication, the Dark Knight is going to have some serious box office competition next month.

Attention women of Earth: THAT is what leather pants are supposed to look like

Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson, who must leave the gym only to perform, shows us how leather pants are supposed to look. I hope the state of NJ in particular is paying attention…

Where’s Mall Security?

Man, I remember the days when Mall Security would have stopped this cold…

This video is awesome for about 10,000 reasons, the foremost being it’s a cute girl (likely with great abdominal muscles) spinning on escalator. I do however, fear for the youth of our nation, as odds are a bunch of uncoordinated young copycats will try this and either plummet to their deaths, or at the very least, have their hair ripped out when sucked into the escalator. Well, as I suppose as long as someone’s filming it’s OK.

Most of the new Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy album

When I heard that 9 songs from the 10-year in the making Chinese Democracy album had hit the file sharing networks, I knew they would be on YouTube as well in matter of minutes.

Here’s the first couple tracks. IMHO, all in all, they sound quite good. Maybe not 10 year in the making good, but good. A couple are live, some still sound like demos, but not bad, and if anything, these leaks have gotten me even more excited about hearing Chinese Democracy than ever.

Turkish Star Wars surpasses the original

Probably the biggest complaint most people have about the original Star Wars movie is that the hero did not jump high enough. And while George Lucas may not have had the humility to listen to the fans, luckily his Turkish counterparts did. Behold the final scene from “Turkish Star Wars”.

Actually, George Lucas himself must have been involved in the production, because not only is the Star War theme music used, but after a minute or two, actual footage from Episode IV is “seamlessly” spliced into the shots. I’m guessing Lucas used Turkey’s less stringent rating systems to do some of the hardcore violence the MPAA wouldn’t let him get away with in the States (like karate-chopping an alien in half, or, my favorite, ripping off an alien’s head, throwing it at another, who then inexplicably explodes).

Yes, there is no doubt this version is better than the original, and certainly contains far more jumping. The bold choice of combining the Luke and Han characters into one bad-ass, high jumping ass-kicking machine was brilliant, and really lets the audience focus on the jumping instead of the mindless dialogue that bogged down the original. The Darth Vader character’s helmet is also much pointier than the “girlishly smooth” helmet Vader wore in Lucas’ original, and only adds another element of danger as the hero jumps closer and closer.

Here’s hoping Lucas doesn’t ruin this version by going back in and digitally remastering it, adding little extra flying droids and such. This is one cinematic classic that deserves to remain pristine.

Another day, another fat kid doing something stupid on YouTube

Videos of fat kids doing stupid things on YouTube are usually wildly popular, and with good reason – they’re hilarious. This video is no exception. It is a fat kid giving exercise advice, and it’s pretty awesome. Who wouldn’t want to look like him? Unfortunately, I fear that people trying to get his results will be disappointed, as the one step he seems to have left out of his routine is instructions on how to bake the cakes he must be eating, presuambly using the bowl he uses for his haircuts.

This kid seems so out there to me (with his “Stud Muffin” shirt) that I would ordinarily call bullshit, saying it is deliberately orchestrated to get hits, except this kid seems so genuinely stupid, and his haircut is so genuinely bad, that no one could fake this.

Build your own Flux Capacitor and fix your horrible life

Remember that time you were accidentally caught picking your nose at the SuperBowl and the cameraman happened to catch it and throw it up on the JumboTron? Well, now you can take that horrible moment back, along with all the other thousands of horrible moments in your life via Time Travel!

Instructables.com has created a tutorial on how to build your very own Flux Capacitor for about 55 bucks. Of course, this one won’t actually WORK, but hey, neither did the original (sorry if that was news to you). All you need is a Fuse box, some window molding, and some LED icicle lights.

Fans of the Back to the Future franchise will instantly recognize the Flux Capacitor as the most important element in a Time Traveling car (aside from an aluminum chassis, of course). Well, now you can make your own, on the cheap, leaving you plenty of money left over to buy a Delorean.
