Not since Darrell Hammond’s Jesse Jackson impersonation has a Saturday Night Live member so captured a public figure as Tina Fey’s Sarah Palin. Tina joked at the Emmy’s that she hopes Palin does not become the next Vice President, but I have a feeling her SNL skits would (almost) make it worth it.

Former beauty pagent contestant-turned Alaskan Governor turned Vice Presidential hopeful Sarah Palin had a little difficulty answering this question from Katie Couric about her “You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska” comment. So much so that someone thought to place her voice on top of the only other person ever to botch an answer as badly – fellow beauty pageant hopeful, Miss Teen South Carolina.

Well, I’ll say one thing, I zoned out on how bad her answer was half-way through and had to rewatch it. Being a beautiful girl must be awesome. I kind of equate it to starting out life with $6 million in the bank and 5 million Facebook friends.

Someone took James Earl Jones‘ voice from other films, and dubbed them over Star Wars footage. It starts out slow, but achieves hyper-space awesomeness about 2:30 in.

I had heard that the highly anticipated X-Men Origins: Wolverine film was slated for a May 1, 2009 release date, but according to a newly released teaser trailer making the rounds, it appears production is way ahead of schedule, and we’re actually looking at a “Summer 2008″ release, which is more or less any day now. The movie looks killer, and if this trailer is any indication, the Dark Knight is going to have some serious box office competition next month.

We’ve all be there: alone, drunk, and in the heat of a 3AM Who Wants to Be A Millionaire home game, two life lines gone, all that’s left is the “phone a friend”, but unfortunately you have no friends… So you do the only thing you CAN do, you call 911 (or if you’re British, like this lady) you dial 999 and ask your question.

Obviously the 999 operator was being a jerk because he didn’t know the answer. Maybe she should have called Al Gore. Thanks to faithful Son of Macenstein reader Chaplare.

This video is awesome for about 10,000 reasons, the foremost being it’s a cute girl (likely with great abdominal muscles) spinning on escalator. I do however, fear for the youth of our nation, as odds are a bunch of uncoordinated young copycats will try this and either plummet to their deaths, or at the very least, have their hair ripped out when sucked into the escalator. Well, as I suppose as long as someone’s filming it’s OK.

Videos of fat kids doing stupid things on YouTube are usually wildly popular, and with good reason – they’re hilarious. This video is no exception. It is a fat kid giving exercise advice, and it’s pretty awesome. Who wouldn’t want to look like him? Unfortunately, I fear that people trying to get his results will be disappointed, as the one step he seems to have left out of his routine is instructions on how to bake the cakes he must be eating, presuambly using the bowl he uses for his haircuts.

This kid seems so out there to me (with his “Stud Muffin” shirt) that I would ordinarily call bullshit, saying it is deliberately orchestrated to get hits, except this kid seems so genuinely stupid, and his haircut is so genuinely bad, that no one could fake this.

Photography as an art form is very subjective, and there’s no real way to define what causes a photograph to make the leap from the ordinary to the extraordinary… but something about these pictures speaks to me.

Perhaps it is the bold choice of colors.

You may remember the Golden Globe-nominated Emmy from her leading roles in the films The Day After Tomorrow, Poseidon and The Phantom of the Opera. But I’m pretty sure I will always remember her from these photos.
